QCell is the only privately owned Gambian telecommunications company in the country. QCell was the first telecoms company in the Gambia to provide 3G mobile internet service as well as enhanced voice and SMS services.

QCell began commercial operations on July 1st 2009. QCell is the vision of a young Gambian Entrepreneur, Muhammed Jah, who has many years of experience in the IT business. He is well known in The Gambia and the entire West African sub region for innovative and technologically advanced products and services. QCell is The Gambia’s first 3G+ GSM Service Provider and thus offers services that until now were not available in this country.

QCell was also the first company to launch 4G Wimax Internet in The Gambia. In May 2017, QCell launched the first and only 4G LTE mobile internet in The Gambia. This technology is only available in a few countries in Africa due to the high investment cost however, as innovators in mobile technology we felt the need to give the Gambian people a taste of world standard mobile technology. QCell is also the nation’s leading ISP providing Broadband Internet Services throughout the country via our WiMax Fixed Wireless solution.
